ANYWAY She wasn't entirely comfortable with it at first, because Clarine's a higher class and shouldn't consort with such people blah blah blah WHATEVER point is, Gi-ne was nice to her. Like. All the time. There was never a point when she stopped being nice to her and Clarine crumbles faster than anything to people who are nice to her. BECAUSE SHE WANTS ATTENTION AND AFFECTION and Gi-ne gave that to her in droves. She was always looking out for her, and she would comfort her and let her do things like do her hair and they were basically being Girls in the middle of murder meetings, good job, guys.
She does still feel a little guilty for Jason, though. Not her own reaction, which she knows was just fine, but because Gi-ne was so desperate to protect her that she got injured in turn, and that's what god her lynched. As far as Clarine's concerned, that's her fault, and then the fact that she had to kill Gi-ne was just rubbing salt in the wound. A large part of her desperation to keep on going and keep on fighting so hard was that Gi-ne was counting on her to bring everyone--including Gi-ne--back. That kept her going no matter how hard life got. Gi-ne kept her going.
Because she really did accept Gi-ne into her life as family. Despite Clarine's everything, she's desperate for attention; familial affection in particular is something she's so weak to and she absolutely came to see the entire murderfam as part of her family and loves them in her own way. She knows that Gi-ne is really strong, so she doesn't really worry about her. She thinks that she's really amazing and impressive in her own way and can handle anything that comes her way! So there's not a lot of bittersweetness there--she's entirely sincerely happy to have met Gi-ne, and knows she'll do amazing things in her life and was eternally grateful to have met her for the time they had. COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU MURDERMOM.

Of course, then Rei got involved with Hinata, but they'd been discussing that since night one so it didn't really surprise her, and Rei seemed innocent so Clarine wasn't worried about it. She was just happy to see Hinata happy.
The night after Gi-ne's execution Clarine was pretty sure Rei was just using Hinata. The way she reacted to Gi-ne's execution was just too out of character compared to what she'd been doing, after all. That was something Clarine was concerned about, but it's not like she had time to do anything about it because then they lynched her...OH WELL. Then Rei really Messed Hinata Up with the message she left, and Clarine really hated her for it for a bit. She'd really hurt Hinata, and while Clarine was able to whip him back into shape, she knew she couldn't handle everything on her own. She needed Hinata to save everyone, and Rei had threatened that by being her EVIL SELF.
Those feelings fizzled out a bit by the time Rei came back, though. They managed, after all, and Hinata still cared about her, and everyone was safe. So she meant what she said about Rei needing to take care of Hinata AND IF SHE DIDN'T, SHE'D DO...SOMETHING... Don't underestimate her, she's a trained soldier!!!
But she's willing to play nice for the time they have left and because Rei is so important to Hinata, really.

Honestly Clarine is fond enough of him for him to be a murderdog... BUT ANYWAY RIGHT.
So he didn't make a good impression on her at first, obviously. First, he was ALL ABOUT MURDER, and then he was popcorning Sephiroth's execution and those did not make good impressions. Clarine was pretty convinced that she was stuck being a General with a psychopath and she was Not Happy about it.
But that actually changed pretty quickly. Orion died and Tsurumaru was legitimately sad about it, and he wanted her to pray for the souls of the departed, and Clarine was scattered enough that she hadn't even thought about it. She was grateful he brought it up, because it was important to her too, and it made her feel a little better about how awful everything was as generals. That's when she started to realize that she had misjudged him, and she started to be a lot more open-minded about him.
WHICH IS REALLY SHITTY because then he died!!!! He even gave that big speech about how he'd be checked by Auger and die in the trial AND THEN HE DIED AT NIGHT. Clarine was really upset about it and she couldn't even show it because she had to pretend that she didn't know him... either way, she felt incredibly sad and it just made her realize how much she really did treasure him, even if she didn't completely understand him. She understood that he was afraid to be left behind, at least, and she was sad that he'd be alone now, even if she hadn't been the one to leave him behind. She really wanted to keep that promise that they would always be there for him.
So he was one of the things keeping her going even when things got hard. Because she had to keep her promise and make sure he wasn't sad, and make sure that he was not alone or lonely. SHE FOUGHT HARD FOR YOU, TSURU because he was part of her precious family after all.
ps: stop sinning pls

So everything Clarine said and did for Orca were totally legit, for the record! She's not a good liar, which is why it's a really good thing the Generals were fighting to save everyone. She was entirely sincere when she told him not to be suspicious because she was worried for him and when she said she wanted everyone to stay safe.
Orca in particular is the sort of person who Clarine attaches to, because he was quiet and hard to read and generally not very expressive, which meant she didn't really get him at all. And people Clarine doesn't get tend to draw her towards them, because she wants to understand them!!! Let her understand you!!! Talk to her!!!
And she didn't really ever learn to understand him but whoops!!!! Way to die, Orca!!!
She's also not entirely sure that he doesn't hold a grudge against her for being a General but she can't blame anyone for doing so so she just kind of...quietly deals....
She's totally rooting for him and his love life, though. Please go confess.

UGH STOCKING... Clarine cared so much about Stocking, and she was so incredibly sad when they had to kill her... especially because Stocking was their second choice after Shijima HAHA. And then Shijima fucked up the body really badly and Clarine felt even worse.... none of her reactions were faked at all in that moment. When she saw Stocking's body she almost had a nervous breakdown then and there...
Because Stocking was always really kind to her. Clarine's a pretty caustic personality when she wants to be, but somthing about Stocking was just so overwhelming that Clarine kind of immediately fell back off of her high horse and was just left being the curious and good-hearted girl she is beneath all of the haughtiness and tsun. She also doesn't have much of a tolerance for HORROR AND DEATH, naturally, because she's sheltered, so Stocking supporting her was something that really helped her immensely.
She held onto that lollipop wrapper all week, okay... she ate the lollipop because she knew Stocking wouldn't want her to waste sugar, but she wanted to hold onto the wrapper until she saw Stocking again. It was her own personal promise that she would because Clarine doesn't hold onto trash normally!! She's a lady!!!!
Anyway, Stocking was one of Clarine's most precious friends, and really quickly at that, because she gave her so much support. And Clarine is always really attached to people she doesn't easily understand. Stocking's world experiences were just so much more vast than hers. She wanted to learn about them and learn from Stocking and she's honestly in a lot of ways a little girl who is so fascinated in so many things that she's never gotten to experience, locked up like a princess as she was.
ANYWAY Stocking is one of her favorite people, and she honestly was just so touched that she gave her Honekoneko-san. She's going to keep him so close all the time WHO CARES THAT HE DOESN'T MATCH HER CLOTHING he's something precious to her, and she'll take as good of care of him as she possibly can. It'll bring her closer to Stocking and that's all that matters.
So in the end really it's like Stocking was Clarine's own guardian angel. She kept her going and firmed her resolve and Clarine's so relieved and happy. They were successful, and Stocking is fine, and every time she has something sweet, she's going to think of Stocking and smile.

God Yamato gave Clarine some serious whiplash.......
Anyway when she first really got to talking to him, he was really nice to her! Like...incredibly nice. He was so kind and thoughtful that she really liked him. She wanted to get to know him better and spend more time with him. He was the sort of person she thought she miiiight be able to be friends with (even though she's generally speaking bad at making friends).
AND THEN HE WENT PSYCHO LIKE. WHAT. She was naturally REALLY DISTRESSED when he brought his friend's severed head to the breakfast table. That was horrifying to her and it was the first time that she was afraid of one of the swords and it really sunk in that they weren't human like the rest of them, they were SWORDS. She really did feel bad when he was voted to be lynched though, because naturally she knew he was innocent as a General herself... she was sincere when she went to tell him that she wasn't afraid of him anymore (mostly).
She was afraid of what he could be, but she wasn't afraid of him as a person, and she wanted to be sure that he knew that before he died, as if it could be some sort of comfort.
So yeah Yamato gives her a lot of whiplash and she still has a lot of Unsure feelings there, but overall she does think he'd be a good friend when he's not being psycho--or maybe she just feels bad for condemning him to death.

BUT AH MAX.... Clarine really liked Max. She thought that she was incredibly clever and useful despite being a Useless Normal Teen Girl like Clarine herself was. She managed to make herself useful with her wits and her camera, and Clarine really admired that. In a way, she was trying to subtly emulate it, except Clarine had no useful talents...good job, Clarine!!!
But ironically despite all of that, Max is one of the people that Clarine never really worried about. She had a strong support system, she had people like Royce looking after her, and while it made Clarine sad that she died, Clarine was pretty aware that death was better than playing the game for longer, especially since they were GOING TO WIN and bring everyone back. there were no other options. NONE.
So she trusted that Max would be able to hold herself together until she managed to save her, and she was relieved that she was out of the game and relatively safe... EXCEPT APPARENTLY SHE WAS MAKING DEALS WITH THE JUDGE??? MAX NO.
Ahem. Also she was ready to cut a bitch when she heard that the Judge sentenced Max to hell fuck you kindly too, Judge.
