Oh man ok so Matt Mattson!! Tbh Souji didn't really branch out alot but like the few times he did talk to Matt because of role call he just saw him as the friendly neighborhood dad to all the kids? Like Matt was kind so Souji overall finds him to be a very pleasant guy! He kind of thought it wasn't fair for him to be thrown into this murder/hunting game stuff TBH...TBH. To add on, he wouldn't outright say it but he also has to had it to Matt for being blind but probably one of the most capable from this group. Like He just found it really neat because back in his era disabilities and diseases are seen in a more severe way?? Also Matt was an awesome fox whisperer and Souji can see why because again Matt really was one of the more...put together guys on the island. Also Matt was never being a sephiroth so that's even better in his book *thumbs up*

Ugh but then Yamato was executed and Souji started to pay more attention to like...profiles, names and votes and SORRY MATTSON BUT...you voted Yamato and he was pretty upset about that in general not just you specifically but at everyone that did? He found that entire trial ridiculous tbh but maybe thats because he never liked guns so the gun focus was just :| to him.To be fair he wasn't freaked out over the YAMATO VOICE: BRINGS A HEAD TO BREAKFAST LMAO thing so he wasn't on the same page of HEY THIS GUY IS DANGEROUS the others had. Should the circumstances have been different he probably would have deemed everyone from that list his enemy and try to kill- [Man don't you just love the Shinsengumi...] Instead he was like lol "you guys" finally got someone when this mess of a group finally got a general. IM STILL LAUGHING ABOUT HOW HORRIBLE WE ALL WERE at this 'find the mafs' game?? CHRIST

Then Souji died so he didnt really talk to Matt at all after that but he did see Mattson's amazing rampage into the graveyard?? GO GENERAL PUNCHER GO GO-

Ahem. Anyways he saw that so like back to first impression of "wow this dude is blind but really capable??" add "he kicks ass" to that description. He doesn't fault Matt for that by the way it's true he punched his commander/big bro figure but lbr Hijikata deserved what came to him from Matt just don't tell him I actually said this because he'll prob ground me when we get home shhhh but yes Matt Mattson...the best blind man this island has seen yes...

Also since he's keeping his memories he'll prob go home a bit more...hopeful?? Like Souji himself just contracted a life threatening disease and he's been keeping it low key because he wants to stay on duty like if he dies he wants to die in action not laying in bed withering away so he hates his illness for making him weak and he's a strong person he has to be!! For the sake of the other gumis so like to see matt still alright despite being blind and stuff?? like hey maybe things will be okay even if I do get found out IN A SENSE? DOES THAT MAKE SENSE IM CRYING unfortunately this guy is not about being forward so he'd never downright admit it RIP...
