UGH I DID SEE THEM i’m laughing

even as tsurumaru had to be incredibly cautious because of his mafia role, yamato was the kind of sword that he could relax around. they just like to have a good time watching people die?? such as on day 2, when they popcorned… they’re also some of the most naturally off-kilter swords, so their behavior made sense. i think they both had a mutual moment of tiredness, when people started calling them out on popcorning. they’re swords, so death means so much less to them. BUT WE TURNED POPCORNING™ INTO A VERB and that was their long lasting accomplishment….

and then on night 3, tsurumaru slaughtered yamato’s boyfriend while YAMATO TOOK OUT A GENERAL... was that sacrifice worth it, yamato… was it worth it? when yamato was executed on day 4, tsurumaru wasn’t too shocked. he kind of saw it coming (please do not ferment the head, yamato), so yamato’s death wasn’t a surprise to him either. in a way, he was kind of pleased!! yamato being lynched was a big benefit for the generals.

but, back to night 3. tsurumaru didn’t actually find out who shot orion until he got to the graveyard. and oh man….. yamato’s and tsuru’s graveyard relationship was pretty rocky, and it reminded tsurumaru all over again about why he thinks that the shinsengumi swords act like a bunch of really entitled children.

he’s still kind of peeved about the whole graveyard thing and yamato’s stubbornness and how yamato doesn’t see that his words were inconsiderate, but tsurumaru hopes that when they return to the citadel, that yamato will still popcorn with him. having fun with popcorning is better than grudges, anyway!!!

p.s. when urashima and clarine get married, let’s throw popcorn down the citadel aisle instead of rose petals…….
