Okay, but seriously. When they first met, Clarine struck Gi-ne as a sheltered kid trying to act tough. A really cute one. She pretty much immediately liked Clarine and decided she'd do her best to guide and protect her! Having recently sent away her two actual sons, she was experiencing a bit of empty nest syndrome so... Hinata and Clarine ended up benefitting from that. But she also just really liked Clarine. She could tell she was scared and inexperienced so she spent most of their time together trying to make sure she was looking after herself and keeping her spirits up. She'd planned on teaching her how to murder and guiding her in that area as well, but (like Hijikata called her out on) she started to enjoy spending time with a kid and not doing that. She already went through all that with Raditz and didn't enjoy it, so she unconsciously started sheltering the murderchildren.
But that isn't the saiyan way and Gi-ne knows it! So she kind of forced herself to take Clarine out murdering with her, with the goal of slowly getting her used to it and walking her through how killing should go. Hopefully Clarine didn't learn much, since that night started out a mess. She was really scared when Jason went for Clarine and completely threw aside her own safety with the goal of stopping him. But then Clarine didn't panic, or scream or do any of the things Gi-ne was expecting. She was too upset at the time to process it, but after the fact when she thought about it she was really proud of how Clarine had reacted. She'd kept her cool and immediately fought back, even striking a serious blow with a weapon she wasn't familiar with. Obviously she was a lot more capable than Gi-ne thought and she was able to die thinking that Clarine would probably be okay without her.
Let's talk about that death. Obviously, from a pragmatic point of view, Gi-ne was a goner as soon as her injury was put in the spotlight, so she wasn't about to sacrifice Tsurumaru or Clarine just to get one more night in the game. Even Tsurumaru had better chances than her, as far as she could tell. When Clarine was picked as Hunter she was honestly disappointed? Because she wanted to die fighting, which she couldn't do against Clarine and get killed. If any of the village had been chosen, she would have fought back and tried to save herself, but that wasn't an option there. So she basically decided "fuck it" and used it as an opportunity to teach Clarine about murder. She turned away so that Clarine wouldn't see her face, which she knew from experience made things easier. She walked her through cutting her throat, since that was turning out to be a common way of killing for their group. The main goal was to get Clarine used to the act of killing someone though, since she knows that's the hardest part (again, from experience). Since she already knew she was dead, her only reason for being upset was being worried how the group would win without her. But she had a lot of faith in Clarine's potential to be a great warrior. In a way she was kind of glad that she got to spend her "last moments" so close to her, especially since she had to pretty much ignore the other three Generals.
ANYWAY post-execution was just Gi-ne cheering for Clarine and co from the graveyard, worrying if they were eating enough, worrying if they were managing not to fall into despair without her, etc. Despite all her faith, when Clarine and Hinata were put directly in the firing line by Ivan she was horrified. She really, really wanted to be there to help them. But she couldn't so she toughed it out and Urashima and Shijima are very much appreciated, at the end of the day.
Post-game, Gi-ne is happy to see Clarine on her way home. She'll miss her and think about her fairly often, but so long as they both always remember each other she's happy with how things worked out. Good luck with the rest of your life, Clarine. Become a strong warrior and fight Gi-ne in the Outrealm, okay?
