But ugh... I guess I should preface this with that I like to think Urashima is one of the newer spirits at the citadel and combined with the fact he's also one of the younger spirits, he really and truly does look up to a lot of the other swords. He came into this game believing in them 100% and I think if everyone hadn't been so adamant about
Urashima might have come clean about being a Rainsford to all of them because the trust was real.
He still wanted to believe in all of his friends! Up until Shijima was executed and she was a good person, you know? She just had to do bad things... so why couldn't his friends be in the same situation? Why can't they be good people being forced to do bad things too??? And that made Urashima Very Sad to think about. A little part of him wondered if maybe it could be Tsurumaru after Yamato made that joke(???) at sword meeting but it was too cruel to think about so he kind of just... avoided it. And got quiet... and if people mentioned one of the swords having to be a traitor, he just got quiet and hoped nothing would happen IT WAS ROUGH.
Eventually he decided if one of his friends was being forced to hurt people tho (especially their own friends), it would be better to stop them. So he started to ask around and Tsurumaru's name came up. AND IT WAS REALLY SAD. LIKE LITERALLY ALL URASHIMA COULD FEEL WAS SAD. Like, it's not fair!!! He already thinks he's cursed! Why would someone make that come true! He didn't have concrete evidence though so he kept believing and hope Auger would investigate Tsurumaru for real proof... but then Tsurumaru died and he found it was because he killed Kashuu AND IT WAS SAD AND CRUEL AND NOT FAIR AND TSURUMARU DESERVED BETTER ALL URASHIMA WANTED TO DO WAS CRY BECAUSE IT WAS SO SAD UGH
And Kasen was like... "Tsurumaru was yelling he didn't want to be alone! And he wants to be left behind!" And Urashima was like, "That's so stupid because he wasn't alone and we're not leaving him behind to be alone either!!!" He really wants to try to understand where Tsurumaru is coming from more re: Tsurumaru's despair but no one tells Urashima anything. ... Which is why he doesn't want to give Tsurumaru his sword back until he's certain Tsurumaru isn't going to try to get himself left behind in some messed up self-fulfilling prophecy for himself.
He doesn't know the whole deal with Tsurumaru but what he does know is Tsurumaru is a good spirit that had to do bad things and that's very sad but most importantly, Tsurumaru is good. And that's what he wants to focus on more. Which is why he can forgive Tsurumaru but he still can't forget everything so he'll never stop worrying about him. But worrying is better than feeling sorry??? He just wants his friends to be happy and if he considers Tsurumaru a friend then that means Tsurumaru isn't alone right...
